ASPE, presents a Jay R. Smith sponsored webinar that covers the practical side of siphonic roof drainage design.
ASPE will present a second, more in-depth and technical, webinar on the subject of siphonic roof drainage
systems. Going beyond the basics, this all-new webinar was created for engineers, designers, and contractors who
want to learn how to design and install a siphonic roof drainage system.
This session will detail the design and calculations for the engineering of siphonic roof drainage systems. To engineer or design siphonic roof drainage systems requires a higher level of technical understanding and engineering analysis, somewhat similar to engineered automatic sprinkler systems and related mechanical systems.
This webinar will cover the underlying hydraulic theory and discuss recommended design steps to arrive at efficiently designed
drainage systems. The presenter will go through a step-by-step process for a single drain example and a two drain example to
demonstrate the concepts of residual head and system balancing. Due to the complexity of the calculations, a commercially
available software package will be used during the seminar.
This webinar will provide the experienced plumbing engineer with the information and basic calculation tutorial to understand
siphonic roof drainage operation and application.
Registration available online and is free to ASPE members.
